Perfect You Photo Facial

What is a Photo Facial?  Photo Facials ars a form of skin resurfacing. It is non-ablative with little to no downtime and is usually pain-free. Similar to micro-needling and chemical peels, it is a treatment to reduce facial wrinkles and skin irregularities, such as pigmented lesions, blemishes, or acne scars. The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, precisely removing skin layer by layer. Three sessions are needed spaced 30 days apart.

Unlike micro-needling and other treatments such as chemical peel, our IPL laser leaves you with little to no downtime and because it is non-ablative it is not considered an open wound, minimizing infection.

Sun Spots, Age Spots, Melasma and Pigmented Lesion Treatments

Pigmented lesions

Also referred to as sun spots or age spots, are one of the most common cosmetic skin concerns. Pigmented lesions are blemishes caused by a higher concentration of melanin in the skin. Most commonly found on the face, neck, and hands, they appear as brown spots and are often a result of aging or excessive sun exposure.

Melasma

Is a discoloration of the skin usually brown or gray. It is primarily found on the face, chest and shoulders. Its cause has been linked to pregnancy, birth control pills, sun exposure and genetics as well.  Melasma is mostly found in women and darker skin tones.

LifeStyle Laser uses the Astanza Duality and ReSmooth lasers to successfully remove unwanted age spots and reveal a clearer, more youthful complexion. While most pigmented lesions are benign, some brown spots are indicators of skin cancer. Therefore, please consult with your physician or dermatologist about a questionable age spot before seeking treatment.

How Pigmented Lesion Removal Works

During a laser session, our Astanza Duality and ReSmooth Laser send ultra-quick pulses of light energy over the unwanted lesion, selectively targeting the age spot, etc. while leaving the surrounding skin tissue unharmed. The melanin in the skin absorbs the intense pulse of light energy and shatters upon impact. The shattered pigment is then naturally removed by your immune system and replaced with new, healthy skin cells.

Over the weeks following treatment, your unwanted lesion may for a scab. Allow the scab to heal and flake off naturally - do NOT interrupt the healing process by prematurely picking the scab. This can lead to infection, unwanted side effects, and even scarring. Once the scab heals on its own, your skin will appear lighter and blemish-free. Most patients will see exciting results after just 1 to 2 treatments.

Laser light is converted into heat, which breaks apart pigment clusters and triggers your body’s healing response and triggering your skin to "turn over" and rejuvenate. The fragmented pigment is processed through your lymphatic system and eliminated from your body naturally.

Most treatments take less than 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area and how many areas you treat.

Depending on the type and degree of pigmentation you want to eliminate, you may need more than one IPL photo facial session. Your practitioner estimates the number of treatments you’ll need during your free consultation.

Treatments aren’t painful, although you may feel a sensation like the snap of a rubber band against your skin. There’s no need for advance preparation, anesthesia, or recovery time.

What is a Diode IPL photo facial?

In addition to pigmented lesion reduction, an Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a type of laser therapy that uses pulses of concentrated light to treat areas of pigmentation and to promote collagen growth reducing signs of aging.
